Systemic Clinical Psychologist

Ines Zabalaga

I am a Bolivian woman, mother of two wild amazing creatures, Santi and Julia. Still learning and growing in the challenges of romantic love, fortunate to have a partner that feels the same commitment. I am also the human for an amazing dog: Pipi, my friend, colleague and guide.

My heart and bones are full of many countries' colors, territories, cultures: born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, moved with my mother to Mexico where my grandparents were, so I grew up between Mexico, Central America, and Uruguay during the 70s and 80s. During that time my adventurous parents carried the hope that we could create a better world if we chose to pour our energy into it so they dedicated theirs to try and help some revolutionary movements.

Very soon in life I also felt the desire to understand humans experience (myself to start with) and help as much as possible, especially kids. I felt so much at ease with them that my first professional inclinations always considered them as the center of my attention. I still do it in a way or another when I bring curiosity, play, intuition, imagination and innocence as main opportunities for healing.

I believe that we can reconnect with our essence: PURE LOVE with presence from wherever in our life we are and decide to go for it! Not only this is the best gift we can possibly imagine for ourselves and people around us, but it really is the foundation for a better world. The path to this reconnection lies in taking responsibility for our personal work—practicing compassionate curiosity about the fabric of our fears and tears. These fears often prevent us from living a more expansive life and protect our personas with intricate defense mechanisms. As a species, we can be dangerous if fear is the most present and plays the main role in our lives, we can be at high risk of losing touch with the spiritual grace of hope and love very easily. When we are in this wounded state, we are like a wild beast searching for relief, eating our own tale, like an ouroboros. But we can try something different. I want to say, we shall try! sometimes through small steps, sometimes through great leaps, but always with the intention of becoming better humans, present in our bodies, tender and vibrant.

So, this is my invitation to myself and to you: to become a safe space myself, to recover sobriety and sovereignty over fear. Let us do this with OPEN WINGS, TOGETHER, acknowledging that WE ARE NEVER ALONE and that the medicine for our suffering is inside because WE ARE THE MEDICINE.

In terms of formal education, I am a clinical psychologist with 24 years of experience. I hold a Master’s degree in Education and another in Systemic Therapy. I am also a certified Family Constellations Facilitator, Director of Spontaneous Theatre, Bach and Uruguayan Flowers Practitioner. I had completed Dr. Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry one year program for trauma work and finished the Mentorship as well, and I am currently completing the final requirements for certification.

Since becoming a certified Family Constellations Facilitator, I have focused my vision and work on assisting individual and collective healing spaces with the help of horses. And yes, it is simple and amazing! Horses mirror the deepest energetic patterns carried by humans. They perform in ways that prioritize safety and life. By working with these noble animals and the collective field of human and horse energies, we can uncover the path back to the basics of good life and love: HOME.
